"Great place - like walking into little America. The "Diner" is classic and all the other signs etc are a marvel to gaze at. I ordered my lunch without salad because I'm sick of getting weeds, lucerne, and half a cherry tomato. To my dismay they had a few cherry tomatoes and coleslaw with a creamy dressing and some real lettuce. I now know that here I can enjoy some decent salad! Never had pork ribs before - delicious and it's the first time I have managed to eat all the chips. The desserts are rather large and delicious! The staff are very nice and friendly but ignored me twice when I said the music was too loud. I had to put my fingers in my ears as I passed the bar because of the pain. Yes, for those of us with hyperacusis, loud music is painful. Luckily I brought my specialised ear plugs. But even so for the first time it was still loud while wearing them. I want to bring my other friends, but as octogenarians and being slightly deaf, they will have difficulty hearing me and others. I didn't ask for it to be turned off, just turned down a little bit."

"Whilst on a week's holiday at the beach recently, my wife and I managed to get out for a kind of date night, (props to the MIL for visiting and crashing the night). What a great little find! Tasty food and well prepared on quality ingredients - smoked meats done RIGHT (at least rivaling Brisbane's best), and the fish-special was just phenomenal too. Its a nice change from 'the usual fare' about town. (Don't get me wrong, we like a little fine dining too, but this was quality, relaxed dining with awesome food and a great atmosphere). Great drinks list, and friendly helpful service from the team. We were looking forward to coming back before we'd even left. And a few days later, the kids were keen to try it for lunch, and they loved it too! (Mr 5 is a bit fussy and loved the Calamari and the best Mac n Cheese my wife and I ever tasted (coz he wasn't going to finish it all) - and that includes trying one of the best in Montgomery, Alabama (in the US) too. Looking forward to going here again next time we're in Caloundrafornia."

"I called up for a last minute booking and the staff were very hospitable and organised a table for my family. The food was spectacular! It was rib night and my husband and I both order the pork ribs and they just fell off the bone. My children shared a brisket lasagna and the staff went out of their way to split the serving over two plates. Such service is hard to come by. The venue has wall to wall decos with vintage number plates, street signs, vintage cars/bikes. Very cosy, rustic and yet homely. Perfect place for a good meal with our without the family Thank you for such a wonderful meal and experience, we'll surely come back when we visit the Sunshine coast again!"

"A group of us enjoyed incredible meals and beers at Thirsty Beaver for lunch today. The decor is retro, old style pub, with so much to look at in any direction. We arrived just around the lunch rush and they quickly accommodated us as another group left. Service is quick and efficient and our meals arrived quickly. The highlight was the food though. Slow cooked brisket, smoky pork ribs and a crispy chicken burger were ordered and all meals were incredible. Do yourself a favour and head to Thirsty Beaver for a delicious meal in a cool setting. 10/10"

"Had the loveliest lunch here today with my partner and kids! The food was fresh, full of flavour, and came out quickly—perfect for Valentine’s Day. I had the ceaser salad with added prawns and it was honestly one of the best lunches I’ve had in ages, beautifully presented and cooked just right. The wine was spot-on too. What really made it stand out was the friendly staff. Warm, welcoming, and attentive without being over the top. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers. The atmosphere was relaxed and clean, with a nice little buzz that makes it easy to chat and unwind. Such a great spot with an American styled diner towards the back of the restaurant. they had kids activity booklets with colouring in - kids meals , beautiful deserts and my partner said it was the “ best steak he has ever had out “ . Definitely coming back again soon—highly recommend if you’re looking for a tasty easy lunch with great service!"
